if had to visit just two islands..??

just wondering

if you had to visit just two islands in hawaii.. which would they be?

my fiance and i are definitely going to maui for our honeymoon.. but we are also considering a different island?

we are going for two weeks.. or should we stay mainly in maui %26amp; then just go to oahu for the last few days?

any suggestions would be great! :)

Maui and Oahu are a great pair for a first trip to Hawaii - and the two islands I would suggest. Absolutely give yourself more than a few nights on Oahu. I suggest at least 5 nights. There is a ton of things to see and do on Oahu ... or just relax.

Oahu, Big Island or Kauai are all good choices.

There is more to see %26amp; do on Oahu than any other island.

Lots of info including sites with free brochures for all islands:

32 years ago...Our first two trips were 11 days split between Kauai and the Big Island, awesome! We have now visited every Island but Moloka%26#39;i and Niihau. For your Honeymoon I would suggest just staying put and enjoying Maui...put the other Islands on the list for future trips! Anniverseries just get better! Celebrated our 35th on Monday!

What time of year? What activities do you enjoy? Knowing a budget would help us recommend lodgings.

If you do stay Maui, you could divide your time between West Maui, South Maui and Hana -- and not have to do any island hops.

If you do two islands can you arrange to fly into Island #1 and home from Island #2, leaving only one hop?

Since Oahu is usually a plane stop I would do Oahu, but I think most would agree just stay in one place. Hopping is expensive at takes a lot of valuable time. The best part about Hawaii is relaxing and getting into the aloha vibe, it is not running around seeing stuff.

Really depends on when you are going . . . I would do Kauai and Maui . . . but you might want to just do those 2-3 days on Oahu, and then just relax on Maui. :)

Since you are going to Maui, I would add Oahu.

I don%26#39;t know what interests you, but many of the most interesting things to see are on Oahu (USS Arizona, Polynesian Cultural Center, Waikiki %26amp; Diamond Head, etc.)

Two weeks is plenty of time to visit two islands. Which ones? That really depends on you. The islands can be very different. Maui and Kauai are supposed to be good for honeymoons. Oahu tends to have more flights and discounts for your next Hawaiian trip.

Here is a jumping off point for island selection. Any survey can skew things, so I recommend it only as a starting point.

In addition to reasonable frequent flights between the islands, there are ferry%26#39;s available from Maui:

Lahaina, Maui to Lanaii

Lahaina, Maui to Molokai

Kahalui, Maui to Oahu

Warning, the super ferry is controversial. Mentioning it in this post is apt to draw some fire. I am listing all the ferrys as a lesser known alternative to flight.

There is no right answer to this question; it depends on who you are. Maui is not even the ';right'; one to pick for a honeymoon for everyone. Each of the islands has its honeymoon niche.

What is right for YOU -- suggest you get a book like ';No Worries Hawaii'; or ';Hawaii for Dummies'; which presents what each island has to offer. I especially like the first one. It is a small investment for something so important as your honeymoon, to sit down with an under $20 book for a couple hours and learn about the islands ... besides which it is FUN!
