want to plan ANOTHER trip to Kauai-need help on house rental

Went to Kauai in February w/ hubby. We stayed in Poipu - first at the Grand Hyatt and then we rented a condo at Whaler%26#39;s Cove.

We loved Kauai so much that we want to go back.

We drove to the North Shore one day and it was beautiful.

Any specific areas on the North Shore that we should stay and any ideas for specific UPSCALE condo, house or cottage rentals?

Thanks in advance.

We LOVE Hanalei Bay Resort. Check out Jebett%26#39;s condo. We stayed in a different unit, which was nice, but hers looks outstanding.

Try simmitpacificinc.com to locate a condo on the N. Shore. HBR is a really nice place.

This is Jebett%26#39;s rental:

As well, there is vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/hawaii/kauai and www.kauaivacationresorts.com/north.html for rentals on the northshore. Good luck! :)

Have to say Jebett%26#39;s place looks fabulous. Also might want to check out Pu%26#39;u Poa condos.

We toured jebett%26#39;s condo last summer and it is gorgeous! The pictures on the website do not do it justice! It has wonderful views of Hanalei Bay and centralled located within the complex itself (close to BOTH pools, restaurant and bar) but on the downhill towards the beach %26amp; close to the tennis courts. She also stays there frequently so she takes good care to make sure it%26#39;s perfect. We would rent it ourselves but hubby has business in Port Allen and it%26#39;s just too far for a daily commute.

Can rent as a two bedroom as well:

I love our rental on Anini Beach, Plumeria House from VBRO, it%26#39;s not right on the beach but across the street and about a block down from the beach access path. Beautiful, 2 bedroom plus extra room with futon and great porch all around enjoy again love Kauai!

We prefer to stay in a cottage or rental house for the privacy. But after March 2009, those units will need to have a non-conforming use permit in order to be legal rentals. So right now, we%26#39;re wating to see what is going to happen with that process before we book a place to stay on the north shore for next May/June. Try vrbo.com for both houses and condos on the north shore.

We%26#39;ve stayed in this house in Kilauea a few times. www.halesteward.com The house sits on 5 acres of tropical oasis. No ocean view but does have a beautiful mountain view with a lanai that wraps around the whole house. It%26#39;s a large home so if it%26#39;s just the 2 of you, maybe you can invite friends.

Can we be friends? just kidding, sorta.

We always plan our next trips to Kaua%26#39;i as soon as we return to reality. I need to know when I can expect to go back and have that to look forward to.

There are so many wonderful places on NS. Have fun researching and enjoy your next Kaua%26#39;ian vacation.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions.

Which area of the North Shore do you think is the nicest to stay in?

We spent one day driving around the area but can%26#39;t remember because everything seemed nice to me!
