Hello. My family wants to visit Hawaii in the next year or so. We all love to snorkel, so we would like to know the best month(s) to visit Oahu and Maui. Thanks for all the help.
Best Time To Visit HawaiiBest is in the eye of the beholder. The most crowded times of the year is summer, the week before and after Easter, the week before Thanksgiving and the week before and after Christmas. Fewer deals, but a prolonged bad economy chnage that. Winter is popular as well. Late April/May is a great time.
Weather-wise ... any time. Temps are fairly constant. More rain in Dec/Jan/Feb - but most accomodations are on the drier sides of the islands.
Best Time To Visit HawaiiWhenever you can get here - that is the best time to visit Hawaii! :) I do think the shoulder seasons offer not only less crowds, but good weather as well. Winter can be iffy on any of the islands and if you are traveling with kids, summer (or holidays) may be your only option. If you really love to snorkel, you might consider the Big Island. I am currently researching for a trip there - because of water clarity, it has the best snorkeling/diving of all the Hawaiian islands. Just a thought from one happy snorkeler to another! Happy planning! :)
neither of those islands are anything more than poor to fair. Best time is May and October.
If its shorkeling....then look at the Kona coast on the big island.....same time. It will be twice as good...visability, coral, critters, than Oahu or Maui.
Big islands Kohala coast has 57% of all the coral and life in the entire state.... Maui about 15% and Oahu 5%
All depends what you want to do and see
thanks 4 the tips...
Eventhough the island of Hawaii does have the best snorkeling, you will find the snorkeling on Maui to have the second best!! September,April or May would be the ideal time to visit. Both are ';down season';, will offer the best weather and the best chance of better water clarity. Early October can also be nice and offers the warmest water of them all!!
