Better hotel rate advice needed

I%26#39;m booked at a certain hotel for a particular package (booked this months ago and paid 2 nights deposit). I now see better rates for packages that are just as good if not better for those same dates. How should I go forward seeing about getting this better rate? I booked these myself - no travel agencies etc. Do I just call the hotel? Thought I%26#39;d turn to you guys for advice before anything else! Thx!

Hard to say. What was the cancellation policy for your reservation? Most that we have for next month were 30 days no penalty...if you have the same just cancel then rebook.

My confirmation email states:

Cancellation Policy: CXL BY 3PM HST 72HRS PRIOR/CC CHRGD 2NT DEP

So I guess I can do that. Do I tell them this is what I%26#39;m doing %26amp; rebook with them right there?! I%26#39;m all for being honest %26amp; upfront, just not sure how they feel about it %26amp; certainly don%26#39;t want to mess up my current reservy! Hm .. maybe I have my husband book the new one %26amp; then cancel the old.

Why beat around the bush? Just call and say you found better rate and would like that rate.

Done! Awesome! 2 nights free and a lower rate to begin with - still includes the breakfast as in my other reservation! So glad I%26#39;ve been reading this forum as someone else posted about this promotion! Will post thx comment on that thread!

I just did the same with the Hyatt on Waikiki. They were very nice about it!
