Ok, I%26#39;m going to eat my words...now we are seriously considering booking at the Cliffs for part of our stay! Joan- your advice kept haunting me, if the kids keep busy, they%26#39;ll be happy...so true and I just kept thinking how they might go bonkers at HBV if there is no pool and not much grass to run around....even tho that view is gorgeous! Found out the Cliffs will start new construction on a new pool next week with waterfalls, Keiki pool w/squirt area, more palm trees and tropical landscape plus there is a putting green, tennis and basketball courts, small playground, horseshoes, and TONS of grass for them to run around- great for when I%26#39;m packing lunch for the beach or when DH is bbq%26#39;ing, seems like it%26#39;s a good fit for the kids.
Anyone stay there lately? any comments on this unit? Thanks!!!
Princeville Cliffs, any input on them and 5-301??I may have missed it, but when are you traveling? Will the pool be completed for your arrival?
We have owned timeshare at the Cliff%26#39;s since 1987 and have always enjoyed staying there. The current management have done a wonderful job.
The only time we stayed in the 5 building was the year after Hurricane Iniki.
The only complaint I had about this building was the noise from the pool, and not just from the kids. Adults are just as noisy.
Other than that, it is in a very convenient location, 5301 would be a 3rd floor unit with a loft.
I don%26#39;t think you would be unhappy staying there.

I met the Asst GM, John Mahoney the other day. He used to work at HBR. He said the construction of the pool is starting next week and sounds lovely. For now his guests can use the pool at HBR. It is a nice complex but not over the top. It would be more fun that HBV IMO. The interiors will vary. I think for the price it is a good option.
Thanks Joan and Rich! We are finally BOOKED at the Cliffs for a week! I called and they said the pool will be done in 5 months at most and we arrive end of June so it should be complete and hope to hear good reviews about all the new additions by then! The unit looks like a nice remodel with ocean and gazebo views , it%26#39;s on KVR so we%26#39;ll see. It%26#39;s definitely a better fit for our family, thanks Joan, you helped me a lot! We%26#39;re excited and what a relief to not have to search anymore!!

FYI, we%26#39;ve stayed at the Cliffs twice in the last 5 years. Our most recent trip was just a few weeks ago (8/21-31). First time, we stayed in a mountain-view timeshare on the second floor (building 4???). This last time, we rented a 3d floor loft unit in building 9 from a private owner; it had a wonderful wonderful 180 degree view of the ocean and 2 beds upstairs in the loft. We love the Cliffs as a perfect place for a family to stay. The grounds are not over the top or resort-ish; no on-site spa or restaurant, etc. But the grounds are lovely, the staff helpful and friendly when you need them, lots of flowering plants and birds everywhere (not too many early-crowing roosters, though). All the units have nice lanais and are very spacious. Both units%26#39; we%26#39;ve stayed in have been spotless and nicely appointed, comfortable beds, good kitchens, etc. Have fun -- we%26#39;d go back to the Cliffs in a heartbeat!

We have also stayed there in Mar %26#39;06 and despite the rain had a great time. We had no view to speak of (Bldg 1?) But an excellent choice for kids...2 bedr had LOTS of space and fullsize W/D (helps) 2 large baths and privacy between bedr. (upstairs loft was nice and spacious w/2 queen beds.
Nothing fancy in furnishings but with a new pool coming it should be great for families.
