embassy suites
They are both right next to where the Trump tower is currently under construction. There have been complained about day-time construction project noise.
embassy suites
I am currently staying at the embassy suites. we had lunch at the outrigger. it is directly across the street. if you are looking for an ocean view you can get it at embassy as well. it is not far from the water at all. i like embassy because of the free daily breakfast and free alcohol happy hour! There was also a free concert here today with a big local band. parking is expensive $25 if you are renting a car. location is great! very near beach and shopping row. i cant speak for the outrigger rooms but the lobby was pretty nice and it is right on the beach
Which Outrigger?
The Embassy Suites are very nice ... spacious. Comfortable. Brand new. Free (full) breakfast. about 1/2 block from beach. I have been in the one on the Beach Walk and have stayed in plenty across the country.
Outrigger Reef is the one that%26#39;s across from the new Embassy Suites.
the outrigger waikiki is the one i am booked with....so ewither the outrigger or the embassy..the embassy is the same price but you get way more, but then again...it sure is nice to stay on the beach!!!
Outrigger on the Beach at Waikiki is an older facility. Lots on posts about internal and external noise. Once you get a look at it, you understand why. Great location on the beach.
Em Suites -- again, large double rooms with dining room table and lots of amenities, large bath.
While the Embassy Suites Waikiki is a relatively new operation, and represents a comprehensive retrofitting and upgrading, the actual structures are not new and are of the same age, vintage and construction types as the Outrigger Waikiki.
The ES today is the renovated amd combined Outrigger Waikiki Village and Outrigger Waikiki Tower high-rises, which were along with the Outrigger Waikiki designed by the same architect (Roy Kelley), use the same construction techniques, and are circa the same basic age.
As such, they share similar levels of internal noise and limited elevator capacity (two of the more common complaints). The only real difference is that at the ES they combined two guest room bays into a single one-bedroom suite which enabled them to enlarge the bathrooms and provide a separate living area. And, of course it%26#39;s finish is ';fresher'; than the guest room areas of the Outrigger Waikiki.
The units are not as spacious as the typical ES rooms on the mainland, but certainly a step-up from the size of those at the Outrigger Waikiki.
Big plus to the ES is the wonderful Yard House beer pub on the ground floor.
thanks for the info!!!!!
Hi Kiwi - we stayed at the embassy suites in March. It was a great place for families and groups but had I been traveling as a couple,no kids, I would have picked the outrigger. ES was just a little too busy and loud at the breakfast and the family happy hour.
thanks for the info...the outrigger is the same price as embassy suites, but the es gives you so much more
