WKORV Cash & Points deal

Thought i%26#39;d mention that the Westin villas has some participation in the Cash %26amp; points (starwood points) deal.

I%26#39;m trying to get a few extra points before I book our two extra nights for Feb 09. We%26#39;re using our property Feb 8th - 15th but the rest of the family heads home on the 15th and my new hubby and I are staying two extra nights.

I first thought about trying to find a ';not to expensive'; nice hotel elsewhere on Maui but then thought about the hassle of moving around for 2 nights and then couldn%26#39;t really find anything good for under $300 and as Starwood Gold/owners we only get perks on starwood properties.

Well the Westin spa and Sheraton allow you to book a night between 12K and 16K points! but after our trip to Disneyland we used up all our incentive points and don%26#39;t have enough for two nights.

The Westin Villas is 4800 points + $90 cash. .

can%26#39;t beat that deal so as soon as i get just a couple more points we%26#39;ll be booking . . god willing they still have Cash %26amp; Points available :-)

Thought i%26#39;d share this info in case anyone was looking for an affordable way to stay in Maui. You can sign up for the Starwood Amex card and get 10K or 12K points to begin with and have 2 or 3 nights covered with that and $90 per night.

WKORV Cash %26amp; Points deal

SPG Cash %26amp; Points redemptions are terrific values. I employ them whenever I can (unless trying to requalify as a SPG Platinum, where they don%26#39;t count towards stay credit)

...BUT there is extremely limited availability, ESPECIALLY FOR HAWAII (at least the desirable properties)

I%26#39;ve gotten it recently for the Moana Surfrider on Oahu and have seen them for the Maui properties on rare occasion, but they come and go FAST (e.g. disappear in a day). So if you see it for your dates, BOOK IT!!! you can alway cancel w/o a fee

C%26amp;P redemptions at WKORV (Westin Ka%26#39;anapali Ocean Resort Villas) are limited to studio (lock-off) units. But curious as to why you didn%26#39;t use any SVO StarOptions to book add%26#39;l days there UNLESS you%26#39;re not carrying any balance?!?!

Another note: you should never burn SPG points at the Disneyland properties because the rates are always low ($100-$150) which results in poor redemption value for your SPG points. For instance, I never redeem unless I%26#39;m getting $.035 SPG redemption value or higher for each point.

WKORV Cash %26amp; Points deal

good to know i wonder how long this deal is for? do you know? i already have 21K points in less than a year so that would mean i could stay 4 nights for $360.00 total not bad.. but is that just for the studio as poster said?

We%26#39;re using our full 2 bd week so no extra Staroptions.

As for Disneyland we did the Nights and Flights package which for 60K points go 50K airline miles for Alasaka airlines.

It was a great vaule because we pretty much got 5 nights for 10K points. We took the moms and boys so ended up doing TWO nights and flights packages. . .100K airline miles added to miles I already had and we got all 6 RT tickets at 20K miles each. So 6 RT tickets made the deal extremely worth in IMO.

Then upon check-in we found it would be another $50 per night or 1000 points to upgrade to club level. I first thought as Gold this would automatically be done but then found food and drinks were all free so there weren%26#39;t any FREE upgrades i paid in point for both rooms to be upgraded. MADE OUT GREAT.

There were 4 adults and two kids (their club lounge allows kids and even had chicken nuggets and mini corn dogs some nights) most our dinners were had there and had unlimited drinks. Not to mention free breakfast and being able to make PPJ sandwiches for the kids lunches and packed up extra bottled juice and water. We saved $100%26#39;s daily with that.

I don%26#39;t feel like we wasted points at all.

Aahh,

Nights %26amp; flight redemptions: makes sense now :-). Those are very good redemption value opportunities like cash %26amp; points.

You better start working on getting those 9,600 points in order to book a cash %26amp; point redemption for 2 nights, or wait for the rates to drop. But I hardly see rates drop below $300 for WKORV.
