Kauai scenery.

Ok, maybe we can keep this thread going for just a bit longer than the last one about the Movie...Tropic Thunder.

Is the Kauai scenery THAT good in the movie, to make it worth going to? I need to feed 3 of my addictions: Hawaii, popcorn, and movies!

Anyone know what area(s) of Kauai the filming was done? Or was it scattered around?

Thanks. jebett, did you get to it?

I ran out of time, but I did drive by the motel where some scenes were shot. Koloagirl wrote about the movie location in the tropic thunder thread. It is really beautiful scenery so if you are in the mood for popcorn and many gorgeous views of Kauai go for it. Ben Stiller probably says thank you. (he is a part time resident).

Looks like most of the filming was way up on private land, so you will not have access to it.

We hike all over this island, and Erica thought she saw a place or two, but more than likely just the same species of lush jungle foilage.

The scenery in the movie is pretty amazing, as this island is a lush green magical place.

We had a great time, lots of laughs, and totally no message on life. Just impossible fun and humor.

Now, get out the guide books and find some hikes, or guided tours into the green of our island.

Have fun and enjoy

The scenery was great, movie was ok. I took a picture during our flight with Wings Over Kauai of an area tha was used. I am trying to get my pictures up on webshots for all to see. Hopefully by this weekend....along with my trip report on TA.

We went and saw it last week. I wouldn%26#39;t go just to view Kauai scenery. It%26#39;s pretty much all filmed outside but you aren%26#39;t going to say ';Hey, I saw that before!'; The movie was really funny though, and I%26#39;d recommend going to see it. We went to an early show, bought a popcorn, 2 sodas and paid less for our tickets then the snacks cost. :(
