Best nude beaches in Maui to go snorkeling

I would like to know where is the best nude beach in Maui to do some snorkeling.

Oh my gosh - my head is full of possible responses to this... but they%26#39;d probably all result in TA pulling the thread :-)

Little Beach in South Maui is the best known nude beach - can%26#39;t say as I%26#39;ve every heard of anyone raving about the snorkeling there though. And tryng to snorkle au natural at some of the prime snorkeling spots would probably buy you more trouble than you are looking for.

Actually the snorkeling there at Pu%26#39;u Olai (Little Beach) is pretty good. If you go to the far right (north) side and snorkel around that point, there%26#39;s plenty of coral and fish to take in. But the south swells I encountered during my visit really reduced the visibility (even before 9am). I imagine it would be a lot better when conditions are calm.

Didn%26#39;t snorkel in my birthday suite though. I prefer textile. But hey, whatever floats your...

LOL bluefan

of the nude snorkelers?

All I can think of when I envision this is having to be oh so much more worried about things in the sea that bite ... I like having protection.

Good Sunday morning chuckle!!! I am envisioning many snorkelers with Bare Buns afloat! Just too funny. Honu and fish will be in for a surprise!

My opinion, Maui is a conservative island. Nudity and other alternative lifestyle plays are better found in Honolulu.

This is good for a morning chuckle. But in all seriousness the book ';Snorkel Maui and Lanai'; rates both Little beach and the Red sand beach in Hana an ';A';. Both though require a hike. More so from what it sounds like at Hana. The trail there can be very tricky especially if wet. And the water, as with everywhere, but more so in Hana needs to be calm. At the red sand beach you need to go out past the breakwater so they only recommend it for experienced snorkelers.

Like KK mentioned there are things that will take a nip at you. I have been bit by a Chub which is a good size fish and have seen plenty of photos of people who got too close to a Lagoon Triggerfishes nest and got a wicked hickey from their beak type mouth. The idea of getting bit like that in an area that%26#39;s normally covered makes me cringe. But just think of the stories you%26#39;ll get to tell your grandchildren. LOL

nevermind the response from twosox. We visit Little Beach most every day we are on Maui. I snorkel on rare occasion there, only when the water is calm. It%26#39;s no big deal. Try it.

Twosox doesnt%26#39; know what he is talking about!! My DH has snorkeled Little Beach numerous times, sans clothing!! Great coral and fish he tells me!! It is a lot easier to snorkel Little Beach as opposed to the Red Sand beach in Hana. These are the only 2 clothing optional beaches on Maui.
