Hi
I have short listed my condo choices down to two for our second week. Our first week will be in Kannappali. Both of these condos are the same price, and both are really really nice. Maui Kamaole is in the Fern building, ground floor. Beautiful inside. Has all the extras, and is a corner unit. Maui Banyan is on the first floor of H building and is also very nice. Big Jaccuzi tub, and spacious, tile floors and completely updated.
Help, can you give me some pros and cons of each place. Have to make my decision soon.
Thanks everyone
Bellini
Maui Kamaole or Maui Banyan
Hi Bellini I can only reply regarding the Banyan. We are staying there again this Christmas for the 3rd time. Pros - great location, directly across the street from the beach, you can only be closer to the beach if you were directly on the beach. The grounds are very well kept. It has 2 pools and 2 hot tubs and lots of great Weber BBQ%26#39;s to use. If you have found a updated unit go for it, the rooms are very spacious. GOod luck!
Maui Kamaole or Maui Banyan
One way to compare the two would be to go to the Maui Realtors website (www.mauiboard.com)
Maui Kamaole condos are newer, larger, more spread out on the property. Maui Banyan condos start at $355,000 and go up to $570,000 for 2-BR units.
Maui Kamaole condos start at $500,000 and go up to $1,000,000 for 2-BR units. Every ground floor unit has a large lanai off the LR and a courtyard between the BR and parking.
Banyan is closer to the water%26#39;s edge.
our vote would be for maui kamaole. beautiful grounds, 2 pools, big units. sounds like a nice unit. we prefer staying at the back of the complex (where F building is located). sounds like it may be the same unit that my sister and family are staying in this feb. we had friends that stayed at the maui banyan 2 years ago. their particular condo was ok. they moved to the maui kamaole last year, and are going back again to mk this feb.
u will have a great time at both....good luck with your decision!
Hi
Can you tell me why you prefer the back of the property? Has anyone stayed in the Fern building? Is is right beside the Maui Hill condos?
Thanks,
Bellini
';F'; is sort of *under* Maui Hill property. (Only noticeable from the parking lot.)
I%26#39;m guessing the poster likes to be away from Kihei Road and in one of the newest sections. Really, only ';A';, ';G';, and some ';H'; units could have road noise, and there are many beautiful *refurbished* units in the older buildings.
The complex was built in stages, starting with ';A'; in 1988 and going up the hill. The middle section buildings went up in the early 1990%26#39;s and the last to be completed were ';J'; through ';M'; in 2001.
We%26#39;ve stayed in ';A'; and had no problem with road noise -- maybe a bit from the entrance road going into the complex. Friends once rented in ';G'; and couldn%26#39;t use their lanai during the day because of road noise. We chose a unit in ';I'; -- for its NW view and privacy, away from Kihei Road and pool noise.
The entire complex is pretty quiet. Some posters were disturbed by some morning noise at units near the tennis courts. Quiet hours are enforced: 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Hi
We have found what looks like a beautiful condo in the F building. In fact I was a bit disappointed that its location was in the back of the complex. I%26#39;m thinking about our daughters and the walk to the beach. I showed my daughters the pics of both complexes and they liked the pool at the Maui Kamaole because it was more tropical. They thought the pool at the Maui Banyan could be anywhere in the world.
Is it a long walk from the F building to the beach? We have stayed at the Maui Banyan and love its location. Very hard choice here and have to decide today.
Thanks,
Bellini
Yes, it will be a hike to the beach, and more of one coming back uphill. Can you see the MK photo on www.wizardpub.com? You%26#39;d go down the paths or roads to the path between ';G'; and ';H';. It angles towards Kam III Beach Park. I%26#39;d drive and park at Kam III. There%26#39;s plenty of parking. Actually, I%26#39;d drive and try more than just the one beach that happens to be nearest.
MK is the nicer property, but MB is nearer to the water and on less of a rise. (Not much help, eh? LOL)
The main reason we keep coming back tothe Banyan is its proximity to the beach, I would love to try other places but as we travel with the kids the fact that it is so close, especially if you have to/need to/ want to go back to your room to get more drinks, food whatever, lugging all the stuff to the beach and then back again for this I chose the banyan (also the price, so reasonable!). The pool does have tiki torches at night, and there are palm trees etc. When are you going?
Hi there,
Sorry to not respond back sooner! We never had issue with road noise at the front, it also was lovely. We liked being closer to the more tropical pool at the back and did find it a bit more secluded. We have younger children(4%26amp;6) and hung out at many different beaches, so we usually drove (sorry to say). Even for us to stay at the front of MK, it was still quite a walk for the kids with all the STUFF we would bring down (cooler of food, boogie boards, etc). My husband surfs also, so we do often drive elsewhere for that reason.
Hope that helps.
Thanks everyone. I have made my decison. Drum Role Please. .....Maui Kamaole.
We haven%26#39;t stayed here before so I think its good to switch things up a bit, and we will have a car, so if its too much of a hassle to walk and carry all our gear, we will drive. Last year, we were almost at a different beach everyday so it made sense to just risk the proximity issue.
Thanks everyone. I do love this forum.
