Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club good for kids?

Hi, we are thinking of staying at this property about 20 minutes north of Honolulu. Is this a good one for kids? How is the snorkeling in the man made lagoons? We kinda wanted some waves but it looks like there are none in the coves? Does the pool have a slide or lazy river and is the pool large?

Thanks so much.

You don%26#39;t say how old your children are, but if they are young the calm water and nice sand at the lagoons is perfect. It%26#39;s a lovely area and you can snorkle. I have seen fish and even a sea turtle in the lagoon nearest Ihilani Resort. But the bottom of the lagoons is sand and the best snorkling is in areas where there is alot of coral for the fish to hide in, like Hanauma Bay (east, Hawaii Kai area).

I can%26#39;t remember seeing a slide at the Beach Club pool, sorry. Look up their website, I think there is a picture of the pool area.

Between the boat harbor and Ihilani Resort there is lots of grass, shade and walking areas along the ocean. There is no sand along the ocean, just the lagoons. Along the ocean is rock. There is a good luau place just past Ihilani that you can walk to.

It takes longer than 20 minutes to get there even at the best of times. It is more like 35-40 minutes from town depending on where you start from.

If you stay there be sure to avoid peak traffic times. You wouldn%26#39;t want to get stuck in going home traffic on a late afternoon.

The luau place is called Paradise Cove Luau.

The Ko%26#39;olina is perfect for kids, not so great for snorkeling and no Disney stuff.

Ko Olina has two pools; one has sand bottom. There is a small playground area for toddlers. They have fish feeding everyday at 7AM in lagoon 1 in front of JW Marriott. You can snorkel in Lagoon 2; not great but good enough.

Ko Olina has luau called fia fia every Tuesday. It is exclusive to Marriott%26#39;s guests only.
