Journey to Paradise: Trip Report from HNL to Kauai

Reading this board has helped me a lot especially in choosing our itineraries. Just want to give something back by sharing our travel journal (with lots of pictures).

We took a cruise with NCL鈥檚, Pride of America on August 9-16 with the following Ports of call: Honolulu, Maui (2days), Hilo, Kona, and Kauai (2 days).

I know this is a cruise report but I included the places that we鈥檝e visited in each port cities.

I鈥檝e read lately about people asking about POA (Pride of America), ports of call, parking in Maui and Kauai.

Hope our travel journal will help others in planning their future trip.

I鈥檝e also posted this in the cruise critic board.

Journey to Paradise: Trip Report from HNL to Kauai

I am really impressed with:

The organization of your reports %26amp; pictures from each day at the different ports. Lots of details.

The number of things you were able to see %26amp; do in each port.

Very nice.

Thank you for a great report! I almost feel as though I went with you! Shame on the man who pushed your son. It sounds like a trip of a life time.

Wow what a fantastic entry. My family is doing this cruise in 3 1/2 weeks for my girlfriends parents 50th anniversay. I hope we have half as much fun as your family seemed to have.. Thanks for the fantasic blog.

dusty, websites like TA has been very helpful in accomplishing the things we did in each port. In sharing our experiences, we hope we can help others in making their plans too.

Emmy, it was indeed a vacation of a lifetime. We%26#39;re still not over it :-)

RW, if you have any questions that I can answer, just ask.

Marissany, I loved your blogs. What a wonderful trip you had. I have never known anyone who did a cruise and made so much of their time! My in-laws did a cruise in Hawaii and they didn%26#39;t see even half of what you did!

Are you posting more on your stay at Ko%26#39;alina? I believe you said you were there for a week?

Thank you for posting this.

Pattie,

Planning played an important role and part of it was reading forum boards like TA and CC. We also rented a car in each port. We we able to visit places in our own time and pace.

I am working on our Oahu trip but work gets in the ways :-). Hope to post it by weekend.

Glad you enjoy it.
