Need HELP for nice dinner with view
I liked Ocean House at the Outrigger Reef hotel, make your reservation for sunset-time. Hau Tree Lanai at New Otani Kaimana is supposed to be very nice.
I am not familiar with the two you mention, so my suggestion means nothing against them.
Need HELP for nice dinner with view
Didn%26#39;t eat at any of the places you mention but House Without a Key had delicious food and is right on the beach. We had a sunset dinner there one night and it was excellent. We sat under a little roofed in area but there are many tables out on the patio closer to the ocean.
House Without A key is a great place, but does not offer a full dinner menu. The other two restaurants at Halekulani get excellent reviews. Probably others will mention them.
Our favorite is the Surf Room at the Royal Hawaiian, but it is closed until January 1.
There is a ';new'; restaurant at the Moana Surfrider ... haven%26#39;t heard any reviews.
Hi there..... We have dined several times at the Hanohano room on top of the Sheraton Waikiki. It is very romantic and the food is awesome.
When you book your reservation, ask for the Diamond head side. The view will knock your socks off !!
Aloha
Can definitely recommend La Mer and Orchids at the Halekulani.
The Orchids at the Halekulani, the Surf room at the Royal Hawaiian, and the new Otani, are allgreat restaurants with great views. The ';new'; restaurant athe the Moana Surfrider is the Beach House restaurant where, the Veranda restaurant used to be-don%26#39;t go there,it is stuffy, over priced average food-seems to be more interested in the ';high tea crowd'; rather that average people. The Orchids and the Surf room would be my two top choices.
thanks for all the great advice everyone. has anyone been to the %26#39;top of waikiki%26#39; restaurant? good/bad? or would ____ be better than %26#39;top of waikiki%26#39; because ________. thanks!
mrtee -- do you want to be above it all ... or on the beach? I, personally, would consider the restaurants at the Halekulani AFTER investigating their dress codes.
Hi Mrtee,
I would hightly recommend the Top of Waikiki. I was there in April with my sisters and we had a great dinner. If you go there make sure and book your reservation for sunset. The revolving restaurant makes it ever more spectacular. I had the Mahi Mahi and it was the best on the Island. The Mai Tais were great too!!!! I would also recommend House Without a Key for a sunset dinner and try the Mediterranean Seafood Pasta I could not eat it all and it is not expensive. If you are looking for a nice place to go for music and Happy Hour try the Mai Tai bar at Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

mrtee733 - My husband and I went for a ';sunset dinner'; at the Top Of Waikiki and quite enjoyed it. We enjoyed the view and were able to see the sunset once our table ';revolved'; to the ocean side. We went for the view and had no expectations regarding the food. Our server was very attentive and earned every penny of his gratuity. I ordered something I have never tried before so I was a little disappointed, but my husband had pasta and enjoyed his choice. We are returning to Waikiki in October and have to say that the Top Of Waikiki will not be on our return list. We have not been to the Hanohano room so we can%26#39;t comment, but reading the posts will give it a try. Good luck with your plans, and would like to read your reviews on which restaurant you chose.
