Flying Maui to Oahu and making our AA flight

In March we%26#39;ll be flying from Maui to Oahu to catch our American Airlines flight back to the states, which leaves Oahu at 8 pm. If we take a flight from Maui arriving at 5:30, can we make our 8 pm flight? Specifically, is it easy to get from one terminal to the other, and do you have to go through security again? Thanks!

Absolutely will make it.

If you are on a direct flight (Hawaiian Air)

Your flight will arrive by 6pm and you have 2 hrs to get over to AA.

You%26#39;ll make it if Hawaiian doesn%26#39;t cancel or delay their flights!

We allowed almost that amout of time between our Maui/Honolulu flights and Hawaiian cancelled our flight and then delayed the next one so we missed our Qantas connection to Australia.

My advice would be to go to Honolulu well before you;re flight leaves.

We also had our flight from Maui to Honolulu cancelled on our recent trip to Hawaii, luckily for us we were staying in Waikiki for three days before traveling back home to Australia.

We also experienced delays on our arrival in Hawaii resulting in a five hour wait at Honolulu Airport.

Two and a half hours should be plenty of time to make your flight back to your mainland , excluding delays and cancellations of course.

From our recent experience don%26#39;t expect to be informed or helped when things do go wrong!
