Aloha!
Next week we leave for one week Oahu, following week Big Island. Last time we visited your beautiful state, we had a great time stopping at a flower farm and ordering up gift boxes for those back home. Everyone absolutely loved their flowers, they were so exotic, fresh, and long lasting.
We want to do the same this trip - have already asked about Oahu, since that%26#39;s our first stop, and have been advised instead to check out the many many places on BI.
Anyone have any favorites for price and quality? We want to have them shipped obviously. We are staying in Puako area and Kehena area.
Thanks for your tips!
P.S. In case you%26#39;re interested, the farm we stopped at years ago was on Maui, called Nahiku Tropicals, and we%26#39;ve used them a few times since, as have family members. Highly recommended.
Flower Farms on Big Island?
Lots of orchid, anthurium, etc. growers in Puna. I always (over 10 years) ship cut flowers and blooming plants from Hawaiian Tropicals Direct never a disappointment. http://www.hawaiiantropicals.com/
I am not sure that is a ';visit and see'; place. The later include
Nani Mau http://www.nanimau.com/ and
Atkasuka http://www.akatsukaorchid.com/The-Greenhouse
Flower Farms on Big Island?
Even though I have lived here for almost 20 years, I still stop at Akatsuka Orchid Garden when I am in that area. I am always amazed byt he zillions of different kind of flowers there.
Thank you , honu and typically tropical.
I am printing out your recs. I can smell them already!
I am another huge fan of Akatsuka Orchid Garden. We always stop there and buy a couple of orchids to bring home. I have quite a collection of Hawaiian orchids now. I have sooooo much problem trying to pick one or two out, when they have so many beautiful flowers to choose from.
