Baby beach??

A bit confused on all the different names for the beaches. We are looking for a warm shallow calm beach for a toddler to play in. Is there such a thing? I don%26#39;t want to end up at the nude beach with little one in tow :%26gt;). Location and comments please.

Baby beach??

Look up Baby Beach in Maui. It%26#39;s perfect for the little ones.

Baby beach??

There are only 2 clothing optional beaches in Maui. Neither one would you be taking a toddler to. Little beach, in Makena is one of them and you need to hike over a cindar cone to get there. The other is Red Sand Beach in Hana. That requires a very tricky trail that is very steep!!

OK NOT looking for a nude beach just a good calm beach for a toddler to play in the water? Is there a good one?

H. A. Baldwin Beach Park – Paia

At the West end of the beach there is an area where reefs form a pond of sorts so the waves don%26#39;t go crazy. This is known as ';Baby Beach';.

Aloha Emmy,

What part of the island are you staying on? That will help us direct you:-))

In North Kihei, there is kalepolepo (sp) right next to the Whale Center. It is the site of an old fish pond. There are coral walls here that block the waves pretty good. While not the best beach in Maui, I did notice that a lot of locals brought their own kids here swimming. If I had my little one with me, I probably would have taken her here to go swimming in the ocean.

The nearest %26#39;baby beach%26#39; to us (in South Maui) is Keawakapu. It%26#39;s right in front of the Mana Kai Maui condo/hotel. It%26#39;s the most northern of the Wailea beaches -- although whether it%26#39;s in Wailea or Kihei is a question.

Launiupoko Beach Park, 3 miles south of Lahaina has a rock wall enclosing a wading pool which is safe for toddlers.

OK perfect we will be in three differnt condos over 21 days, in all parts of the island. Thanks!!!!

By the way why do they all hve like three different names??? Very confusing for us snowbirds!!

Thank you all for your info.

The term %26#39;baby beach%26#39; is descriptive: a beach with sandy bottom, very gradual drop off, protected from blasting winds. As far as I know there are no beaches actually NAMED Baby Beach.

BTW there are also many places where turtles gather to feed or clean; these are referred to as %26#39;turtle towns%26#39;, another descriptive but not a proper name.
