I want to surprise my husband for our anniversary with a Helicopter Tour as he loves flying.
There seems to be alot to choose from and alot of price variations as well. I am looking for one that has a pick up from the hotel and runs for 1/2 to one hour.
Any suggestions please?
Helicopter Tours
over Oahu it will be a total waste of your money
Kauai and The Big Island are the good spots... so much of the airspace on Oahu is restricted ( closed) beause of Military, and the Airport...like 2/3 of the island you cant fly over...
Go to another island
Helicopter Tours
My Wife and I have toured Oahu by Helicopoter twice, most recently in February of this year, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Our most recent trip was with Makani Kai which flys out of HNL and we previously used Paradise; operating at the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore. Makani Kai offers hotel pick-up/return, features the popular A-Star Helicopter and has the option of a DVD of your actual flight; three exterior cameras + one interior.
While my Wife doesn%26#39;t feel comfortable flying with doors off, it may be of interest. Paradise offers the option, but does not have Video capability. A circle island drive is something we do nearly every year and you%26#39;ll find that rural Oahu is beautiful and a complete change of pace from Waikiki. All the major car rental agencies have offices in the city (if in the budget, a convertible gets a 5-star rating from us).
Either tour will take you over Pearl Harbor now (there were post 9/11 restrictions in place when we flew with Paradise, but they have been lifted). You%26#39;ll also see Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, the Makapuu Lighthouse, Kailua-Lanikai beach area and stunning North Shore. We especially enjoy the amount of time spent offshore; the waters of Oahu are brilliantly colored and the tours will also offer access to waterfalls accessible only by hikers.
