Trip report day 3 and 4 of 12

Day 3 - Had breakfast in the room. Began the day with a starter Mai Tai. We then went to the Bank to cash some travelers checks(why is it I am almost out and Deb still has plenty). Then we went to Kona Brewing Company for lunch. I got lost from First Hawaiian Bank to the Brewery. It took me almost 30 minutes. We had Peles Pizza and Wailua Wheat. Deb usually does not drink beer, but loved this one. We lounged on the Lanai and pool in the afternoon. For Dinner we went to Huggos on the rocks. I had the Kalua pork and Deb had a 1/2 lb shrimp cocktail. There was live entertainment with a Hula dancer. This was one of our more enjoyable dinners. Very relaxing with a beautiful sunset(forgot to bring camera).

Day 4 - We did something today. We went to the City of Refuge and the Painted Church. Both were very interesting and did not take to much time out of our busy schedule. For lunch we went to Bongo Bens Cafe. Food was OK, but the location was right on the main drag and a little noisy. Very nice waitress though.:) The afternoon sat by the pool again. For dinner we went to Don the Beachcombers Tiki grill for the pasta buffet. Food and scenery very nice. One more gorgeous Sunset and again...no camera!

Can I ask? How are you finding prices for meals? Drinks? In line with your expectations, higher, lower?

Did you need a reservation for Dons?

Thanks, and I am enjoying your reports!

Only 134 more days to go!

Trip report day 3 and 4 of 12

The prices are higher than we remember, but we were here 7 years ago. They may be a little higher than we expected. Alot of it is where you go, most have menus posted, so you can decide before you go in. The buffet at Dons was $19.95. We have not made reservations at any of the places we have been to, and have not waited at all. We are spending between 40 and 60 for dinner with drinks. Lunch is running around $30 with drinks.

It sounds like you are planning too much, I think you really should relax a little more ;O)

Thanks for the report. I am really enjoying reading it. We leave in about 2 weeks so I am getting some good ideas.
