I s the Challenge at Manele worth the high green fees? Will be on the island one day in April. Have played Plantation and thought for the money they could have at least cut the greens. Have played at numerous courses and thought about this one. Although on Maui has anyopne played the links at Mana Lani. Heard a lot about this links course and wanted to try it as well ... Thanks

Hi Bogie,

We have not golfed it, but we enjoy walking/riding the course because of the views. It%26#39;s beautiful and emmaculate. I will defer to the golfers on the technical aspects of the course and whether it%26#39;s worth the $$. Enjoy!

By resort standards the green fees are pretty much in line. The course is beautiful and fun to pay. I played 5 rounds there last year. It was obviously worth it for me, but Your Mileage May Vary.

Bogieman, my husband was reading this post with me and he has played the courses. Here is his reply to your question:

I have played both the Challenge at Manele and the Experience at Koele. I found the best deal is to play both courses, because the 2nd course costs only $75 for the replay, as long as it%26#39;s in the same day (hopefully, that is still their policy). Being able to play both courses, which I feel is a must, makes the cost very reasonable (by Hawaii standards).

I have also played the Dunes at Maui Lani when it was fairly new and found the course to be a great challenge and value. Don%26#39;t expect ocean front views such as playing at Makena South, but overall it is a great track at a great value. Can%26#39;t wait to play it again.

It%26#39;s definitely worth playing at least once in your life if you can swing the greens fees. As previously mentioned, I%26#39;d recommend playing both courses on the same day. This helps swallow the fees a bit more. I actually played last January, Manele in the AM and Koele in the PM. After playing the Challenge, they gave me the replay at Koele for free! I%26#39;m not sure if they always do this. I think they sometimes charge a $75. Even then, I still would have paid it. It%26#39;s definitely worth it!
