We are staying at the Maui Kamaole Unit C208 for Christmas and New Years this year. Anyone ever stayed in this unit? Or even in the C building? We rented through VRBO and the photo%26#39;s look very nice. Any info would be great! Thanks!
Maui Kamaole Unit C208
You should enjoy it. Maui Kamaole is a lovely property. C-208 faces NW instead of directly into the hot afternoon sun. It%26#39;s thisclose to the lower pool -- nice if you have kids; might seem noisy to some. The ';C'; cluster of 20 units was built in 1989; I%26#39;d guess there have been renovations.

Do you know if we will get any sort of an ocean view? The add on VRBO says partial view. Here is the link to the condo listing. It looks quite nice and the owner seems great!

Well, that first photo is labelled ';view from lanai'; so I guess that%26#39;s what you%26#39;ll see from the room.
The second floor units in ';C'; have good ocean views. What%26#39;s shown in the ad looks accurate to me! Furnishings look fine. The kitchen has been refurbished. Are there three A/C units? (It can be hard to cool loft units even with three; you don%26#39;t want merely two.)
It says each bedroom is equiped with it%26#39;s own air conditioning. This will be ok. It%26#39;s at night when you are trying to sleep when you want to use the air conditioner. Last time we went we stayed at the Kihei Akahi. It only had 1 air conditioner in the living room and it was ok.
Hello All -
I am hoping to stay in this unit with my best friend (we%26#39;re attending our other good friend%26#39;s wedding) and I%26#39;d like to know how you liked your stay here.
I%26#39;m not very excited about facing North. I come from ';the North'; where it is dark and dreary and rainy much of the time and the direction North depresses me! ;-) If it%26#39;s truly Northwest, I could handle that more than just North. How petty I must sound.
Sometimes the people who take the pictures take them from the lanai but not from the inside of the living room facing the lanai. The more dishonest ones crank their necks and take pics off the very end of the lanai which you don%26#39;t see in most situations.
It looks like a very nicely done unit and while I don%26#39;t have a map of the grounds, the location doesn%26#39;t come across to me as bad or too close to the road.
Thanks!
I haven%26#39;t actually stayed there yet. Christmas and New Year%26#39;s is when we%26#39;re going. I will be sure to let you know!
Our condo also faces NW (like C208). That%26#39;s one of the reasons we chose it -- to be out of the hot sun all afternoon. Don%26#39;t worry, you%26#39;ll get plenty of light!
Some people want to view the sunset from the lanai. That%26#39;s a ten-to-twenty minute event, not worth having to stay indoors in the A/C all afternoon IMO.
Often people at Maui Kamaole gather on the front lawn, drinks in hand, to salute the sunset, then go %26#39;home%26#39; to use a BBQ at their condo or go down the street for dinner.
Here is a website that has a sitemap of the Maui Kamaole.

....and here is a site that has a slide show of Maui Kamaole grounds. There is also an aerial view of the property and if you look closely you will likely be able to pick out your unit.

I%26#39;ve stayed at the Maui Kamaole and loved it...in fact I%26#39;m are booked to go back again in January (YIPPEE). I have also recommended it to others who also had a great experience there!
Remember, the MK is also located on a hill so you will be able to have a nice view, though not close up. We stayed in A207 in May and though this is a nice condo and nice location, the ocean seems far away compared to where we have stayed in West Maui (northwestern lobe). If I was to rebook, I would want to be next to the pool since we spent about 3 hours a day there and we have kids. This is a great complex that seems to have the right balance of both quiet and family friendly.
