Anyone know of a good way to find a good vacation home for rent? We are trying to do a big family get-together, so we need to be able to sleep 10.
Thanks!
Marianne
Vacation Homes?
Start with VRBO.com. I%26#39;d recommend looking in Kailua/Lanikai, unless you want to stay closer to Waikiki. You can also link to vacation rental sites through the Hawaii Visitor and Convention Bureau site, gohawaii.com. There are plenty of places that can accomodate a family of 10 with one home, or adjacent apts./ hotel rooms.

jackIndia: this is a HAWAII post!
Yeg...
That was bizarre, and I don%26#39;t know why someone would travel all the way from Canada to go to Big Bear (Tahoe mabye). Strictly speaking though, the OP didn%26#39;t desingnate a location, maybe they posted it in the wrong place or in several forums.
Anyways, Curls, something to consider when selecting a house on Oahu are the needs and interests of the other 9 folks in the party.
Kailua, for instance, is a suburban residential community with great beaches but limited shopping, restaurants, other activities, points of interest, etc. Also, unless everyone is willing to hang out there or ride the bus a good distance, you will need enough car capacity for everyone.
If people are looking for a more active, diverse and intense visitor experience, you should focus on the other side of the island in greater Honolulu/Waikiki.
