Aloha, sorry for this stupid little question but we arrive on boxing day and we%26#39;re staying at a condo. Are the grocery stores closed boxing day? How about the ABC stores?

Thanks, I presumed that the US had the day after Xmas as a holiday as well. In Canada, we get the 26th too.

Glad to know we%26#39;ll be able to get groceries and sorry that y%26#39;all don%26#39;t get the extra day off.

FYI for Americans, the boxing refers to putting food and stuff you no longer need into boxes for the poor. It occurs the day after Christmas.

Yes, sad that they don%26#39;t get this extra day off like we do, eh? Would make the Holidays seem awfully short for those that have to work on the 26th.

Many companies give their employees this day off, but for merchants it is a big shopping day. Lots of good bargains to be found. I was there last Christmas and all grocery stores and convenience stores like ABC, Whalers etc were all open.

Sadly it is also a really big shopping day in Canada as well. Most stores would rather pay the penalty fee for being open on stat holiday. It is too bad for retail workers who are pressured into working that day.

In this country, Dec 26 is a frantic shopping day.

No exception in Kauai. And with retailers hurting, they%26#39;ll be eager to have their doors open this year.
